On the 20th anniversary of the Worcester Cold Storage Fire (1999), this five-part docuseries set out to honor the six brave men who gave their lives in the line of duty. Additionally we set out to raise awareness for the need for an organization like The Leary Firefighters Foundation
TRAILER
THE STORY
Less than twenty years later, seven sons of the fallen heroes have taken up the calling and now follow in their fathers’ footsteps as Worcester Firefighters. Incredibly, some serve at the Franklin St. Station, which was built on site of the Cold Storage Fire. The series was produced for the Leary Firefighters Foundation, which was born out of this tragedy to help support fire departments across the country with necessary funding for equipment and training.
FULL DOCUMENTARY
THE PRODUCTION
We put out one episode a week (5 episodes total) via social media, leading up to the twentieth anniversary. Sadly, prior to the release of the fifth episode, another Worcester Firefighter was killed in the line of duty while working to save members of his team.
I worked with a team of editors and cut the trailer, episode 3 and episode 5. Although episode 4 is my favorite, I would recommend watching the full documentary if you have time.
